After doing some research and reading a couple of reviews, I decided the diverter was the problem; besides even if it didn't work, the cost was fairly small. I was able to replace the diverter in around 30 minutes. It took about thirty minutes because I had to remove items from underneath the sink and so on. Caution!!! Please be advised that when you remove the snap ring above the diverter in the sink that the snap ring may spring out. Put stopper in sink to prevent snap ring from going into the drain trap. The water would come out slowly and dribble for a little while after shutting the faucet off. The sprayer worked but when releasing the trigger, the faucet wouldn't come back on--no water came out anywhere even with the lever "on". And when the faucet did run, occasionally the valve would stutter and make horrible thumping noises repeatedly while the faucet was running.Once I found the part number and saw it was available on Amazon Prime, I snatched it up, pulled the snap ring, and installed the new valve. The difference is like some miracle performed on the fixture. Good pressure, solid spray performance, and normal, quiet operation as you'd expect from a new faucet. Sidenote: the original valve failed because rubber debris from the death of our water heater became lodged in the moving parts. Lack of careful extraction ruined the valve and made this... Recommended for this problem, after making sure that there are no obstructions in the sprayer line. |
